Autor, Travelbay
The Abrolhos archipelago was discovered by Amerigo Vespucci in 1503. Its name comes from the warnings sent by Portuguese seafarers: "When you reach land, open your eyes." Abrolhos roughly means "Open your eyes" . It is worth doing it especially under water, because Abrolhosa has one of the best diving conditions in the world. Visibility reaches a depth of 20 meters into the water.

The archipelago is located 70 kilometers off the coast of Brazil and is made up of volcanic islands. Whale herds come to the area between July and October. You'll get there on a full-day snorkeling cruise from Caravelas. There you load on a boat that takes you to Siribia already in the archipelago.
