Sajama , or more specifically Parque Nacional Sajama, is located right on the border with Chile. It is home to the indigenous people of Aymara , whose culture you will be able to familiarize yourself with while exploring this corner of Bolivia. Above all, however, the park protects the amazing nature and scenery that includes the altiplano plains and mountain peaks. And among them the Navaja Sajama volcano with 6542 m above sea level , which makes it the highest peak in all of Bolivia .

The best base for exploring the park is the tiny town of Sajma, where the national park office operates, and you will also find several guesthouses and eateries. However, it is worth taking into account that there is no well-developed tourist base here. But thanks to this, you will have a chance to feel a bit better about the atmosphere of this part of Bolivia.
