Only 25 km separates La Paz from Huayana Potosi - the 6,088 m high volcano Huayana Potosi . It rises in the Andes, in the Cordillera Real range . It is a very popular trekking destination, because Huayana Potosi is considered to be one of the simpler six-thousanders not only in South America, but also in the world. Expeditions to its peak are organized by numerous tourist agencies operating in La Paz.

Of course, you will have to take care of proper acclimatization, and earlier also of good condition and some equipment (clothes, shoes, etc.). The remaining aspects will be handled by the company with which you will go to the top. Is it worth getting Huayana Potosi? Of course! Both from the approach path and from the top, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent views.

For whom?

Although Huayana Potosi is a relatively easy peak, decide to climb it only when you already have some mountain experience , are in full strength, are in good health, and your condition is better than worse. Nobody will bring you there. At an altitude of over 6000 meters above sea level, you will have to climb alone. And most importantly, you have to get down from there yourself. Of course, qualified guides will take care of your safety, but it is up to you the most.
