Cochabamba , located practically in the central part of Bolivia, is an interesting city through and through. It was founded as Villa de Oropeza in 1574 by the conquistador Sebastián Barba de Padilla. Two centuries later it became a full-fledged city and was named Cochabamba, which translates as " a plain full of small lakes ". There is the seat of the university, there is also an airport and ... one of the largest statues of Jesus in the world.

Cristo de la Concordia is 34.2 m and stands on a 6.24 m plinth. It rises on the eastern outskirts of the city and can be reached by cable car. The views from its surroundings are really impressive. What else is worth seeing in Cochabamba? Certainly the historic center with some interesting museums (for example in the Monastery of St. Teresa or the Natural History Museum). It is also worth adding that paragliders like the vicinity of the city. One of the most popular take-offs is located north of Cochabamba, in the Tunari National Park.

For whom?

Go to Cochabamba when you want to both sightseeing and walking . The city has a nice, well-kept center, but outside of it, you will also find a lot of interesting places. Numerous parks or a viewpoint next to the statue of Christ will allow you to enjoy the city from different perspectives.

AVANTI HOTEL & CONVENTION CENTER

Hotel Avanti met my expectations in every possible way. First of all, there was a swimming pool. And since I came to Cochabamba in the summer, I had a place to cool down. The garden was also okay. In addition, the hotel offers spacious, nicely decorated interiors. The room was clean and well-kept. Tasty breakfasts.

Hotel Boutique La Casa de Margarita

I love boutique hotels and La Casa de Margarita did not disappoint me either. It is perfectly decorated - the interiors are warm and very stylish. The breakfasts are delicious - homemade bread, honey, homemade preserves, a large selection of fruit and vegetables. You can also taste local wines here. The apartment was huge, with a great bathroom. I recommend!

Hotel Aranjuez Cochabamba

A great, very elegant hotel located in the very center of the city. A colonial-style building surrounded by an amazing garden with a large outdoor swimming pool. Class and chic! The service is very professional, there are no problems communicating in English.

Gran Hotel Cochabamba

Gran Hotel Cochabamba is a large resort with a swimming pool complex. We decided on it for the sake of the children. We wanted them to have some fun and for us to have a moment for ourselves. The hotel offers good conditions at reasonable prices. The internet worked mediocre, but the breakfasts were good.
Hotel Monserrat

Hotel Monserrat

We spent two nights in this hotel. A great place, with a very colonial atmosphere. The price was very favorable. It included breakfast, which included a large selection of fruit, good coffee/tea, and good pastries. The room was comfortable, without the wow factor, but it was clean and you could get a good night's sleep.
