Cochabamba , located practically in the central part of Bolivia, is an interesting city through and through. It was founded as Villa de Oropeza in 1574 by the conquistador Sebastián Barba de Padilla. Two centuries later it became a full-fledged city and was named Cochabamba, which translates as " a plain full of small lakes ". There is the seat of the university, there is also an airport and ... one of the largest statues of Jesus in the world.
