Tucuman , or more precisely San Miguel de Tucumán, is the fifth largest city in Argentina. Although you probably haven't heard of it, you should still drop by, if only for a day. First of all, because Tucuman is the cradle of Argentinian independence. It was here, in 1816, that a congress was held, during which the country's independence was proclaimed.

You will learn more about this event during a visit to the museum - Casa Histórica de la Independencia . It is worth taking the guided tour option. Another noteworthy place is Casa Del Obispo Colombres , which houses the Museum of the Sugar Industry. One of the most important economic branches of Tucuman, for many years, was the cultivation of sugar cane. The city also has several nice parks, and in the evenings you will be able to spend time in one of the bars there.
