El Calafate , located on the shores of the lake - Lago Argentino, is known as the capital of glaciers . And all because the city is an ideal base for exploring the Perito Moreno Glacier , located in the Los Glaciares National Park. Over the last few decades, El Calafate has developed very strongly in terms of tourist facilities.

There are many hotels, restaurants and agencies that organize trips to glaciers (but not only). The city delights with its picturesque location as well as amazing vegetation and pleasant architecture. You will also find some interesting places, such as the modern Ice Museum (Glaciarium Museo del Hielo Patagónico) or the Calafate Historical Interpretation Center (Centro de Interpretación Histórica de Calafate), where you will be able to explore the history of the city itself. It is worth coming here for a longer time, because in El Calafate itself, as well as its closer and more distant surroundings, there is really a lot to do.
For whom?
If you are planning a visit to Los Glaciares National Park then El Calafate will be a great base for trips. You will find high-class hotels or nice restaurants here. The city will also be an interesting proposition for people who would like to spend a nice time among impressive views and wonderful nature.
