Until the 15th century, Taxco was under the rule of the Aztecs. Later the Spaniards came here. Among them were the miners who established the first mine in North America here. For centuries, the life of the city revolved around silver and the production of products made of this metal. The Spaniards also left several other souvenirs in Taxco, including colonial architecture. You will find a large number of monuments here. One of the most important is the Church of St. Prismas is one of the most beautiful examples of baroque architecture in all of Mexico. It is worth getting carried away by narrow, winding streets with haciendas, monasteries and churches.
