Chichen Itza was (and still is) a pilgrimage center for the Maya. The city was founded by water sorcerers, or Itza, in the 5th century AD. The whole complex is divided into two parts: the old one with 6 Mayan ruins and the new one with 20 Mayan ruins. The most beautiful building is the Kukulcan Pyramid , which impresses with the perfection of its form and precision of workmanship. However, there are many more attractions there. Therefore, be prepared for a longer tour and take comfortable shoes with you.
For whom?
Chichen Itza is one of the must-see places of both the Yucatan Peninsula and Mexico. Exploring this archaeological park is a real treat for fans of history , ancient cultures and, of course, the Maya themselves.
