Isla Saona is the second largest island of the Dominican Republic . It is located on the south-eastern coast of the country. There is probably no person who would not fall in love with this truly heavenly place at first sight. Isla Saona is the quintessence of the Caribbean. Slender, bent palm trees. Beaches with white, fine sand. Turquoise sea. Picturesque lagoons.

And all this is only 25-40 minutes by boat from Bahahibe - the main town from which cruises to Isla Saona are organized. The island is protected under the Parque Nacional Del Este . What does this mean in practice? That hotels cannot be built on it. A small accommodation base can be found in the only town on the island, Mano Juan. However, you must know that it is extremely expensive there.

For whom?

Do you dream of landscapes like from advertising brochures? Do you want to find yourself in a real paradise on earth ? Isla Saona will guarantee you the perfect space to relax and admire the most Caribbean landscapes. Importantly, there are also beautiful beaches waiting for you here.

Recommended accomodations

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.
Casa Rural El Paraíso de Saona

Casa Rural El Paraíso de Saona

We were lucky to spend three days on the island of Saona. Casa Rural El Paraíso may not be the most outstanding accommodation we had in the Dominican Republic. But what mattered was the fact of staying in this paradise place. The conditions are ok, although for this money you expect something more. Tasty breakfasts. Nice service.
Los Flamencos Aparthotel Beach Club

Los Flamencos Aparthotel Beach Club

We recommend the hotel. It is located close to the island of Saona, in a quiet, picturesque area. It has a large outdoor swimming pool. There is also a small water park here (you have to pay for it separately). Wifi worked flawlessly throughout the entire complex. The apartment is clean, nicely and cleverly decorated.
Hotel Bocaino

Hotel Bocaino

We stayed here for two nights after a trip to Saona Island. The hotel itself met our expectations. The price was reasonable and the conditions were really very good. Continental breakfast, but tasty and filling. Helpful and friendly service. We recommend!

Campito Loving

The campsite is not located by the sea, so there are fewer people here and the price is significantly lower. You can come here with your own tent or rent a tent on site. I used option no. 1. The tent was equipped with a bed with a comfortable mattress, there was access to electricity, lights, etc. Nice atmosphere.
