Parque Nacional Jaragua covers the southwestern tip of the Dominican Republic. It is part of the first UNESCO biosphere reserve in the country. It is an extremely varied area that protects the coast, lagoons, islands, caves and tropical forests. Parque Nacional Jaragua is home to 130 species of birds , including a large population of flamingos. Other important inhabitants are iguanas.
