Barahona

On the shores of the Caribbean Sea, within the Bay of Neiba and the southwestern Dominican Republic, lies Barahona . The city is famous for the cultivation of sugar cane, coffee and banana trees. The surroundings of Barahona are exceptionally picturesque. It is close from here to two amazing lakes : Lagoon del Rincon and Lago Enriquillo and to Balneario La Plaza , which is ... an extraordinary bathing place in a narrow canyon. The city's neighbor is also the national park - Parque Nacional Sierra De Baoruco , which protects endemic plant species found in this area of the Dominican Republic.
