Cesme

The seaside resort of Cesme is a kind of beach base for its larger neighbor, i.e. Izmir , located 85 km to the west. The city's history goes back to ancient times , when it was called Cyssus. Currently, thanks to its location on a picturesque peninsula and good communication with other parts of the country (a motorway leads to Cesme), it could develop as a typical holiday town .

On warm weekends, there are usually crowds here, due to the large number of Izmir residents. What's more, the slightly smaller Alacati located next to Cesme is an excellent base for windsurfing and kitesurfing . The winds blowing the peninsula not only allow you to catch the best waves, but are also responsible for the slightly milder climate of this corner of Turkey.
