Punkva is a small river that flows through the largest and most important karst area in Bohemia , the Moravian Karst . It is thanks to the rafting organized on it that you can look inside the amazing caves. Punkva Caves are one of the biggest attractions of this region. While visiting them, you will see huge stalactites or the Masaryk Room, which has been recognized as the most beautiful in the entire region. You will also visit the Macocha Abyss , which is the deepest karst funnel in this part of Europe. It is 138 m deep. It is worth seeing it both from below and from above, from special viewing terraces.

Hotel Skalní Mlýn

The hotel is located in the heart of the Moravian Karst. This makes it an ideal base for exploring these areas. The building is not the newest, but well maintained and we missed nothing during our short stay. Great area for walks with kids.

Hotel Stara Skola

Hotel Stara Skola, as the name suggests, is located in a former school building. But don't worry, the standard is actually quite high. Very close to the attractions of the Moravian Karst. Our room was spacious and very clean. There are no luxuries here, but it wasn't very expensive either. A good option for such an extended weekend.

Penzion U Hraběnky

Great guest house surrounded by the Moravian Karst. Typically Czech, idyllic atmosphere. The room was well equipped. We all praised the food here. The kids had a playground and there is even a mini SPA. Moreover, driving to Punkva Caves takes only 10 minutes. I recommend!

Restaurace Obůrka

I was a bit afraid of spending the night right next to the restaurant, but it turned out to be completely unnecessary. We had a separate entrance to the room, and the place was perfect for drinking a delicious Czech beer and eating well and cheaply after sightseeing. The room was small but nice. Peace and quiet, and on the other hand, getting to the caves only takes a moment.

Hotel Zámecká Sýpka

Great hotel located in Blansko. It's close to the Moravian Karst and the amazing Macocha Chasm. The room was spacious and super decorated. There is a nice park around it. We really liked the local food. We recommend not only breakfasts, but also lunches.
