Kroměříž , situated in Moravia, has a rich history that dates back to the 12th century. Thanks to numerous well-preserved monuments, it is often mentioned as one of the most beautiful cities in the Czech Republic. You must visit it, mainly because of the three sites that have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List . The first is the Archbishop's Palace . It is one of the best examples of Baroque and Rococo art in the Czech Republic .

The second place on the UNESCO list is the Palace Garden behind the palace. It was founded in the 16th century, and today you can admire over 200 species of trees and shrubs, as well as buildings such as the Pompeian Colonnade or the Chinese Pavilion. The last place on the UNESCO list is the amazing "Libosad" Flower Garden . Its area is overgrown with 20,000 annual plants arranged in various patterns. The whole is complemented by low-cut hedges, flower labyrinths, numerous monuments and fountains. The heart of the garden is a huge and amazingly decorated rotunda. A colonnade, 244 meters long, was erected along one of the walls of the garden. Be sure to climb it to admire the amazing floral carpets from above. In addition to these attractions, you will also find a pretty market square in Kobierzyce. All this meant that in 1997 he was elected the Czech Historical City of the Year.

For whom?

The garden complex in Kromeriz is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. Therefore, if you are a fan of botany , a visit to this city should be a must-see during your stay in the Czech Republic. You will appreciate Kroměříž also when you appreciate beautiful architecture and long walks.

Hotel Purkmistr

Hotel Purkmistr is located in a stylishly renovated historic tenement house on the main square of Kroměříž. What do I think sets it apart? The location, high standard of the room and the fact that it allowed you to fully feel the atmosphere of this historic town. Great breakfasts. I recommend staying more than one night.

La Fresca

La Fresca is a very atmospheric place to stay in the very center of Kromieryż. I really liked the historic tenement house in which it is located. And I liked the view from the window even more. Straight to the square of Kroměříž. A big plus for people working in the kitchen - the breakfasts were delicious and varied.

Penzion U Kubesa - Adults only

It's supposed to be a guesthouse, but the standard of the room is better than in many hotels. The facility, as the name suggests, is intended only for adults, which has its obvious advantages. Additionally, it is located next to the historic market square, in a beautifully renovated tenement house. We were very close to all the city's biggest attractions. We recommend!

Černý Orel – Pivovar, Hotel, Penzion

I was tempted by the name and the promised free beer for everyone who stays here overnight. And I must admit: the beer was delicious and the accommodation was very good. The hotel is located near the main square, so I had all the attractions close at hand. Additionally, there is a great restaurant/beer house on the ground floor, so you can easily feel the casual, Czech atmosphere. The only drawback was the lack of parking and the car had to be left some distance from the hotel.

Hotel Octarna

Hotel Octarna delighted us from the first minutes of our stay. It is located in a beautiful, historic building with a courtyard. A room with well-functioning air conditioning, which was important because it was a very hot period. Free parking, great breakfasts. We also recommend the hotel restaurant - we also enjoyed our dinners. Additionally, there is a small swimming pool and SPA area on site.
