Tabor is a town located in the southern part of the Czech Republic on the Luznice River. It is best known for its well-preserved old town. At the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, it was one of the most important and richer in the region. Many interesting monuments and the original labyrinthine layout of the city have survived to this day. There are numerous richly decorated Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque tenement houses around the square.

The most important building is the late Gothic Old Town Hall , which is one of the most interesting Gothic monuments in the Czech Republic. Today it houses the Hussite Museum, where you can learn more about the history of the city. There is also the entrance to the underground tourist route running through a network of tunnels under the entire old town . At the main square, there is the Church of the Transfiguration, where it is worth going up to the observation tower to look down on the historic center of the city. When looking for traces of the Middle Ages, it is also worth seeing the Kotnov Tower and the Bekhtinska Gate .

For whom?

The city of Tabor and its old town will be an ideal place for people interested in history, especially medieval times. Admirers of Renaissance and Gothic architecture will surely like many interesting monuments. People interested in different religions can learn about the fate of the Hussite reform movement here.

Great location right in the historic center of Tabor. Parking is hassle-free and free, and all the biggest attractions are within a short walk. My room was clean and very well equipped. The owner was very nice and helpful. All this at a very reasonable price, so I recommend it.

Hotel Nautilus

Great little boutique style hotel. Located right next to the main historic square in a well-renovated historic tenement house. The room was tastefully finished and all the furnishings were stylish and tidy. We definitely recommend it both for accommodation and food. The restaurant serves delicious local dishes.

LH Hotel Dvořák Tábor Congress & Wellness

A high-class hotel located in the historic city center. Comfort at a very high level, close to all the interesting attractions of the city, and after sightseeing you could still use the swimming pool. Another interesting feature is the beer SPA. Good service and very good breakfasts. A place worth recommending.

Grand Tábor

The hotel may not have looked very inviting from the outside, but the interior and our room clearly had been completely renovated. A reasonable standard for reasonable money, although you have to be careful because the cheapest rooms have a shared bathroom in the corridor. The hotel is perfectly located between the old, more interesting part of the city, and the new one with more shops and interesting places. We really liked the breakfasts here.

Penzion Kostnický dům

If someone wants to feel the real atmosphere of the old town, this is the perfect place to stay. The old tenement house has been carefully and stylishly renovated and fits perfectly into the character of the historic city. All the biggest attractions are right next door. Good conditions and comfortable bed. The only drawback is that you can't get directly to the guesthouse, you have to leave your car at the market square. But later we walked everywhere anyway.
