Lugano

Lugano is the largest city in the Italian-speaking region of Ticino . At the same time, it is Switzerland's third and most important financial center and a popular tourist destination that attracts with its warm Mediterranean climate. The city is picturesquely situated on Lake Lugano , and between the peaks reaching almost 1000 m above sea level. A very pleasant promenade runs along the shores of the lake, and you can also go on a scenic cruise from here.

The heart of Lugano is Piazza della Riforma , surrounded by numerous typical Lombard houses. The entire old town is full of atmospheric streets, restaurants and cafes. One of the most valuable monuments of the city is the Renaissance cathedral of St. Lawrence with amazing frescoes. It is also worth visiting both viewpoints that are located on the surrounding peaks, i.e. Monte Bre and Monte San Salvatore. You can get to both of them quickly and easily using special queues. Willing to go hiking and cycling, there are over 300 km of marked trails in the region.
