Geneva , part of French-speaking Switzerland, is a thoroughly interesting city. First, because of the location. It is situated on the south-western edge of the country, on the shores of Lake Geneva , where the Rhône River flows out of it. The surrounding landscape is also dominated by majestic alpine peaks. However, Geneva is not only about the views. First of all, it is a city where the United Nations or the International Red Cross have their headquarters.

In addition, Geneva has an interesting old town with elegant tenement houses and narrow streets. Within it, there is the church of St. Peter and several noteworthy museums. It is also worth taking a walk to the English Garden (Jardin Anglais), where you can see the flower clock. Be sure to take photos of the tallest fountain in Europe, the Jet d'Eau, one of the symbols of Geneva. Make time for Lake Geneva itself. A cruise can be a good idea, during which you will be able to feast your eyes on the beauty of the local landscapes.

For whom?

Geneva will appeal to all fans of beauty, law and order. The city is completely Swiss and in order. You will also like it if you like sightseeing and walking. Numerous monuments, promenades and parks are waiting for you there.

Hotel d'Angleterre

Hotel d'Angleterre is a magical place, located on the very shore of Lake Geneva. The room was incredibly elegant, as was the entire building. Beautiful view from the window. Very tasty breakfasts. Service at the highest, world-class level. Unfortunately very, very expensive.

Mandarin Oriental, Geneva

I had the pleasure of staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel twice during business trips to Geneva. Its advantage is certainly the fact that it is located close to the center, right on the Rhône River. It is quite modernly decorated. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. There is an excellent restaurant on site.

Hôtel Métropole Genève

Staying at this hotel is an experience in itself. Mainly because it is located in a building from the end of the 19th century. What's more, from the room window we had a wonderful view of Lake Geneva. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Geneva. We recommend paying extra for breakfast (they are great) and visiting the Gusto restaurant there (class!).

Hotel des Tourelles

This is actually one of the cheaper hotels in Geneva. And that's probably why it has the most opinions everywhere. There are no outstanding conditions there. Especially since looking from the outside (quite an elegant, historic building) you expect a bit more luxury. But it's not bad. The room was clean and well-kept. Breakfasts are ok. Unfortunately, the dining room is small and when there is a larger crowd, you have to wait for a table.

Hotel de Geneve

We chose this hotel mainly because of the low price. But once we got there, we were incredibly positively surprised. Beautifully decorated, located close to the center and the train station. Upon check-in, you receive a city card for local transport. You can use coffee and tea without any restrictions during the day. Plus really nice service.
