Sarek is one of the most unique national parks in Sweden. There are 100 glaciers and several peaks in the group of the highest in the whole country. There are also deep valleys, rushing streams and wild nature that delight at any time of the year. Sarek National Park is inhabited by Sami people who graze reindeer here. Including for this reason, dog hikers are not allowed in this protected area. Anyway, trekking in the Sarek National Park is a great proposition only for really experienced hikers . During trips, you need to demonstrate a great knowledge of the map, compass and / or GPS, as well as be able to hike with a heavy backpack that can hold a supply of food and drink, as well as a tent or a sleeping bag.

Kvikkjokk, on its southern outskirts, or Sourva, in the north-eastern part of the park, are good starting points for excursions around Sark. It is also worth adding that this protected area, along with the neighboring national parks of Stora Sjöfallet and Padjelanta, and the nearby Muddus, was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.

Who is the Sarek National Park for?

Visit Sarek National Park if you are looking for natural, wild and secluded places . It is also a paradise for hikers who are hungry for great views and ambitious trekking goals. Photographers will also be delighted with the amazing landscapes that mother nature has created in this national park.

Stora Björnstugan

This place is amazing. The location couldn't be better. Waking up in the morning and seeing the mountains and the lake that were completely frozen was pure magic. The kitchen was well equipped and catering for vegetarians and vegans was perfect. Pablo and Lisa were wonderful hosts. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. The best place we have ever been to.

Grand Hotel Lapland

Grand Hotel Lapland is a great place with an excellent breakfast. There is a reasonably priced bowling alley inside, as well as free coffee at the reception. We chose this place because of the SPA and we were not disappointed. The sauna was great and the gym was perfectly equipped. The service was very nice and we have no complaints at all.

Scandic Gällivare

The Scandic Gällivare beds were very comfortable. It's nice that gluten-free products were available for breakfast. You could eat enough for half a day. The downside was that the hotel looked old, from the 1980s. Everything was clean but tired. To our dismay, the plastic pool cover fell off. This place definitely needs renovation.

Dundret Laplands Fjällhem

The room furnishings at Dundret Laplands Fjällhem are very nice. Clean, beds comfortable, and the staff extremely helpful. We had trouble finding the facility. When I enter the address into the map, it turns out that it shows a different building. The signage definitely needs to be improved.

Pensionat Augustin

We had quite a spacious and comfortable room at Pensionat Augustin. The facility is close to the train station and restaurants. It was quite noisy because the walls are thin and allow noise to pass through. If necessary, the staff will bring earplugs. Also, the wifi didn't work all day. When it comes to opinions, it's half and half. There are things to improve.
