Las Medulas
Autorka, Travelbay
Las Medulas is located in the north-eastern part of Spain , a bit off the beaten track from the main tourist routes. However, this amazing area and its history are worth getting to know. The bare red rocks that make up the landscape here are the remains of one of the largest gold mines from the time of the Roman Empire .

The fact that it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List proves the great value of this corner of Spain. The marked hiking trails will allow you to enter the tunnels cut by the ancient Romans, but also get a little higher to look at these beautiful rock formations from the observation decks.
