Koper is the largest city on the Slovenian coast and the fifth largest city in the whole country . It owes its somewhat industrial character to a large port located there. However, apart from that, Koper has quite a nice and atmospheric old town . Within it, you can find several real architectural gems, such as the elegant Praetor Palace.

Koper also offers some nice beaches. Therefore, it is quite crowded with tourists in summer. Mostly Slovenes who like to relax on their own small coast. However, foreign tourists also come to Koper. It is worth combining its sightseeing with visits to other towns in this part of Slovenia, i.e. Izoli and Piran .

For whom?

You will love Koper if you like walking and sightseeing , but don't necessarily want to spend too much time on it. Visiting the most important places in the city will not take you more than an hour and a half.
