Połoniny
Autorka, Travelbay
Poloniny is a national park located in the eastern part of Slovakia, right next to the border with Poland and Ukraine . The name refers to the mountain pastures well known to us from the Bieszczady Mountains , i.e. unique, picturesque meadows growing on the mountain slopes above the forest line. The biggest advantage of this region is, of course, the wildlife. It is thanks to her that the Poloniny National Park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List .

It is also worth adding that the largest complex of forests in Slovakia is located in this area. What's more, you have a chance to see, among others, wolves, bears and bison that inhabit this part of the country in large numbers. In addition to the wonderful nature, beautiful, historic wooden churches await you here. And most importantly, it is the least visited national park in Slovakia !
For whom?
If you love wildlife , be sure to plan a visit to the Poloniny National Park. Also, if you value peace and prefer less crowded places, it will be the perfect choice for you. Have you already visited the Polish Bieszczady Mountains ? Did you like it there? In that case, you will also like the Slovak Poloniny.
