Košice is the second largest city in Slovakia, and the center of the eastern region and the heart of the Carpathians. It is situated on the river Hornad, and its long history dates back to 1230. It was developing dynamically from the very beginning and was an important point not only on the map of the region, but also in Europe. Thanks to this, the historic center of the city now boasts the title of the largest urban historic reserve in the country.

The main square of Košice is rightly considered one of the most beautiful in Slovakia. It is surrounded by numerous amazing old buildings such as the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth , which is the largest church in the country, the tower of St. Urbana or the building of the theater from the 19th century. It is also worth climbing the church tower and looking down at the historic old town. There are also lots of colorfully decorated, historic tenement houses in the area. There are many interesting cafes and restaurants on the promenade in Košice. Be sure to try the local wine and beer as well. In Košice, for example, you will find the Hostiniec brewery . It is the oldest Slovak brewery and the fifth oldest brewery in Europe. However, when it gets dark, the Singing Fountain offers interesting multi-colored shows to the rhythm of the music.

Kosice is a large city that offers a lot of different attractions and everyone should find something interesting for themselves. If you are a lover of history and historic architecture , then you will surely enjoy the well-preserved and kept old town. However, enthusiasts of more modern art will find a lot of interesting murals in the city, and a former tobacco factory converted into an alternative culture zone.

Boutique Hotel Bristol
Wysokiej klasy hotel, który położony idealnie w centrum Koszyc. Bardzo komfortowy pokój i do wszystkich największych atrakcji miasta mogłem dotrzeć podczas krótkiej przechadzki. Bardzo smakowały mi serwowane w hotelu śniadania. Duży plus za to, że na miejscu jest basen. Nie było też żadnych problemów z parkowaniem auta.
Pension Horse Inn
Pension Horse Inn polecam tym, którzy chcą pozwiedzać miasto, ponieważ znajduje się tuż obok głównego placu i katedry. Nasz pokój był czysty i dobrze wyposażony, a do tego trochę w klimacie klasycznym. Bardzo miła obsługa i dobre śniadanie, którym spokojnie można było się najeść. Jak dla nas, była to bardzo rozsądna cenowo opcja w stosunku do warunków i lokalizacji.
Penzión Hradbová
Świetny pensjonat, nawet na kilkudniowy pobyt w Koszycach. Super położony, bo było blisko i na starówkę i do nowszej części miasta, gdzie znajdziecie super knajpki i bary. Pokój spełnił moje oczekiwania. Super opcją był też ogród oraz niezła strefa SPA z dużym jacuzzi. Sporą zaletą jest prywatny zamykany parking.
Hotel Aréna
Hotel Aréna to niewielki, nowoczesny obiekt, który oferuje niezłe warunki w sensownej cenie. Dobra lokalizacja, blisko do zabytkowej starówki, wokół sporo knajpek. Bardzo miła i pomocna obsługa, a cały budynek był czysty i zadbany. Polecam śniadania -pyszne!
Hotel Michael's Palace
Bardzo dobry hotel, położony trochę na uboczu, ale z drugiej strony dotarcie na starówkę i do katedry zajmowało raptem 10 minut. Mój pokój był pięknie i stylowo urządzony, a cały hotel jest na bardzo wysokim poziomie i w pełni zasługuje na swoje gwiazdki. Bardzo wygodne łóżko i duża łazienka. Parking hotelowy jest po drugiej stronie ulicy, ale przynajmniej nie trzeba się martwić o to, gdzie zostawić auto.
