Sokobanja

North of Niš , among picturesque hills , lies the small village of Sokobanja . It was known already in Roman times, when the healing properties of the mineral waters found there were discovered. Over the centuries, it has been established that they allow to cure female diseases, cardiovascular diseases or all kinds of problems related to the osteoarticular system.

Sokobanja was the most popular during the reign of the Ottoman Empire. However, it was also often visited later. Among others, he rested here Serbian king Petar I Karadjordjevic , hence Sokobanja is referred to as the royal spa .
