Novi Pazar

It cannot be denied that Novi Pazar is the most Muslim city in Serbia . Located in the central part of the country , it is distinguished not only by the architecture with soaring minarets, but also by the atmosphere prevailing there. It is a slightly different face of Serbia, which is still closer to the Ottoman Empire, mainly due to the buildings that have survived from that period to the present day.

The ruins of the fortress are definitely worth seeing , as well as the ruins of the Turkish baths . Novi Pazar is a kind of springboard from typical Serbian, Orthodox towns and cities, hence it is worth visiting, even for a moment. And if you have more time, be sure to visit several places around the city, such as the Durdevi Stupovi Monastery, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

For whom?

Visit Novi Pazar if you want to get a complete picture of the country during your stay in Serbia. This Balkan state is much more diverse than it might seem at first glance. Of course, there is no such cultural melting point as in Bosnia and Herzegovina , because Serbia is more cohesive in its own way. However, this consistency is somewhat disturbed by Novi Pazar.

Apartments Beli

In Novi Pazar I stayed at Apartments Beli. These are fully furnished apartments of a very good standard. Easy access and parking in front of the building. Price – ridiculously low. But that's probably because Novi Pazar is not a very touristic place in Serbia.

Avio Apartments

My wife and I stayed at Avio Apartments, located in the center. The town itself and the guesthouse may not make an impressive impression, but this is where you can feel the true atmosphere of the Balkans. Additionally, the owner of Avi Apartments is an incredibly open, helpful and warm person. He took care of us like family members.

Apartman Park

For one night I recommend Apartman Park. The guesthouse is located less than 10 minutes' walk from the city center. There is a lot of greenery around, because there is a park right next to it. The room was very well-kept, clean and comfortable. There is a parking lot in front of the guesthouse, so your car is safely parked. Hassle-free check-in and check-out.

Prenociste DM5

Hotel Prenociste is a good option for 1-2 nights. Very good value for money. The room was quite modern, but above all neat. Safe parking, proximity to the center, shops and pubs. Nice service. You can also buy breakfast, but I didn't use this option because I went to the bakery for a meal in the morning.
