Lake Seliger in Russia is one of the country's greatest natural wonders . The starting point for Seliger is the village of Ostaszków. It is not a very nice place for Poles, because there was a camp for Polish prisoners of war established by the NKVD. Apart from this bloody piece of history, this is a place with beautiful lakeside dachas and churches of exceptional beauty from the 15th and 16th centuries. Many tourists compare the lake itself to Lake Baikal , for its species diversity and beauty. this is obviously a gross exaggeration, which does not change the fact that it is worth visiting. Lake Seliger is a beautiful place, perfect for those who love nature. On site, you can lie down on the beach, walk, fish , ride a bike or catch a cruise on the lake itself. The highlight is the magnificent monastery on the island.
