Murmansk
Autorka, Travelbay
Murmansk is a very young city in Russia that celebrated its 100th birthday in 2016. It is the largest Arctic city, which owes its wealth to the extraction of minerals on the Kola Peninsula, the extraction of oil from the Arctic and trade with the Baltic countries. Historically it was founded by the Romanov Dynasty during World War I to be bombed very heavily during World War II. The city's architecture is pure commune, which is even overwhelming. However, when you look at the vicinity of Murmansk, huge ice cream and frosty terrain, the fun is just beginning.

For whom?
In Murmansk, it does not puff as much as it might seem. At least not in summer, so this makes plenty of opportunities for extreme sports in the region. This is one of those places where you have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights in winter.
