Kazan

Kazan is the place where Europe meets Asia. The capital of Tatarstan is where you'll come across minarets and Orthodox churches. Everything blends together and creates an interesting cultural melting pot of the Slavs and Tatars. Historically, the people of Kazan have their roots in the Volga Tatars and the peoples of Genghis Khan . The city benefits from huge oil reserves. The city is the seat of the best volleyball club in the world - Zenit Kazan . In 2018, the Polish national team will be hosting the World Cup in football as part of the Poland - Colombia match.

For whom?

Kazan lies a bit off the trail, as the Trans-Siberian Railway bypasses the cities. Nevertheless, it is an interesting place where the culture of the Slavs mixes with the Tatar culture. The greatest monuments of Kazan are the Hermitage, the Kremlin and the magnificent Kul Sharif mosque. I have described the sights of Kazan below.
