The capital of Podlasie is Białystok. A city with a population of almost 300,000, it is not only an ideal destination for a day trip, but also a great starting point for exploring the entire region. Relatively close from here, among others to the Białowieża Primeval Forest or the Biebrza National Park. But what can you do in the city itself? You will certainly see the Branicki Palace and the surrounding gardens. It is also worth visiting the Siberian Memorial Museum . During the war, thousands of people from Poleski Railway Station were deported to Siberia and Kazakhstan. This is evidenced not only by the museum itself, but also by the monument erected at the station.

Having time, be sure to also take a walk around the Bojary district . This is where you will find atmospheric, mainly cobbled streets lined with charming wooden houses. Other places of interest are, of course, the Planty Park in Białystok, the town hall and the cathedral basilica . In recent years, Białystok has also gained a few slightly more modern attractions. Mostly in the form of highly successful murals. One of them, depicting a girl with a watering can, has become a kind of symbol of the city
For whom?
Białystok is an ideal destination for a one-day, quite intensive sightseeing tour . Several museums and monuments await you here, which will allow you to get to know the city and the region better. Walkers will also like Białystok. Parks, atmospheric streets or a trail of murals are a great idea for a pleasant exploration of the city.
