<p>It is best to come to Tromsø <strong>between May 20 and July 20</strong> , when the sun never sets. Thanks to twice as long days, you can definitely do more sightseeing and go on longer trekks.</p><h3> Northern Lights Festival</h3><p> In winter, Tromsø is a great <strong>place to see the Northern Lights</strong> . A unique event accompanying the Aurora Borealis dancing in the sky is the annual <strong>Northern Lights Festival,</strong> during which classical and jazz concerts take place.</p>

When to visit Tromso?

<p>Tromsø is quite small, so <strong>you can easily walk everywhere</strong> . The city center is the Storgata promenade, where there are most historic wooden houses and the best restaurants and bars.</p><h3> Two cathedrals</h3><p> <strong>Tromsø Domkirke</strong> is the world&#39;s northernmost Protestant cathedral and the only Norwegian cathedral <strong>built entirely of wood</strong> . It was built <strong>in the style of traditional Sami tents</strong> from 11 pairs of concrete slabs. The interior of the church is decorated with a huge stained glass window, which is one of the largest glass mosaics in Europe.</p><h3> Polaria</h3><p> Polaria is <strong>an aquarium and museum dedicated to Arctic wildlife</strong> . Here you can admire various species of sea creatures and even watch a seal feeding show. Several times during the day, films about the Svalbard archipelago and the northern lights are shown.</p><h3> Polar Museum</h3><p> At Polarmuseet you can learn <strong>more about the history of Tromsø,</strong> which was once one of the most important centers for Arctic expeditions. Here you will find, among others: <strong>exhibitions</strong> <strong>devoted to seal and whale fishing</strong> and memorabilia of Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, who set off from here on his last journey to the South Pole.</p>

What to see in Tromso?

<p>Nightlife in Tromsø centers around <strong>the main street, Storgata.</strong> Here you will find atmospheric old pubs as well as hipster cocktail bars and rock pubs.</p><h3> Ølhallen</h3><p> The oldest pub in the city, whose menu includes <strong>almost 50 types of Norwegian beer</strong> . Pleasant atmosphere and mixed age company. This is where locals usually start their weekend (Storgata 4).</p><h3> Blårock Cafe</h3><p> An atmospheric, rock pub <strong>serving the best burgers in town</strong> . Quite crowded in the evenings, especially during live concerts (Strandgata 14).</p><h3> Bardus Bar</h3><p> A nice cocktail bar, <strong>perfect for a quiet evening</strong> and meeting friends. Great bartenders who mix drinks according to their own recipes. Large selection of wines (Cora Sandels gate 4).</p><h3> Café Circa</h3><p> A nice cafe during the day, <strong>a cozy nightclub in the evenings.</strong> Always a lot of young people on the dance floor and a friendly atmosphere (Storgata 36).</p>

Nightlife in Tromso

<p>There are both <strong>easy trails and more difficult trekking routes around Tromsø.</strong> Remember to always check the weather forecast before heading to the mountains.</p><h3> The trail to Mount Fløya </h3><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/norwegia/tromso/tromso-floya.jpeg?tr=n-hero" alt="Tromso Norway" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Fløya, Tromso, Norway - © Brate</figcaption></figure><p> The viewpoint located about halfway up Fløya, which overlooks Tromsø <strong>, can be reached by cable car</strong> . The trail leading to the peak starts from the parking lot located by the road and should take an average hiker no more than 2 hours to complete.</p><h3> Trail to the top of Nattmålsfjellet</h3><p> The 297-meter Nattmålsfjellet is another hill on the island of Kvaløya. It is accessed by a not very demanding, approximately 2 km long trail starting from the parking lot near Kattfjordeidet. From the top of Nattmålsfjellet there is <strong>a picturesque panorama of Ersfjord and Kladfjord.</strong></p>

Actively in Tromso

In interesting museums you can get acquainted with the polar flora and fauna and see how life has changed beyond the Arctic Circle over the years.</p><h2> For whom?</h2><p> Tromso will appeal to everyone who <strong>likes to spend time actively.</strong> In addition to hiking on the surrounding peaks, you can also go on a dog sled ride, canoeing, boat trips in search of whales, or a snowmobile ride.</p>

A wooden house in a truly Norwegian atmosphere. Very nice and helpful owner, delicious breakfast and cozy rooms. Apparently you can sometimes see the aurora from the windows, but unfortunately I wasn&#39;t lucky.
