Although Milesti Mici is an inconspicuous town, and it is here that the largest vineyard in the world is located. During the times of the Soviet Union, the region of modern Moldova was the main producer of this drink. In the vicinity of Milesti Mici, limestone was mined underground for many years. As a result of these works, a whole network of underground corridors was created.

The conditions in the old tunnels, thanks to high humidity and a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees Celsius, proved to be ideal for storing wine. The total length of the underground corridors is over 200 km ! Today, about 50 km of them are used and a total of over 2 million bottles of wine are stored here. Thanks to this, Milestii Mici was entered in the Guinness Book of Records . These tunnels are open to tourists, but sightseeing is possible only with your own car, during a purchased guided tour. Of course, tasting and selling the wine produced here is also offered.
For whom?
It cannot be denied that Milesti Mici is, above all, an excellent proposition for wine fans . A visit to the winery, combined with tasting and sightseeing, will be an experience in itself. Travelers looking for adventures and unusual attractions will surely enjoy the option of underground sightseeing behind the wheel of their own car.
