Mellieha

Mellieha (Mellieħa) is a small town located on the northern tip of Malta. Its close neighbor is Cirkewwa, from where ferries depart for Gozo. Therefore, Mellieha can be a good base for exploring both islands. However, there are other reasons to visit it as well. First of all, one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in Malta is located here.

In addition, in the close vicinity of the town you can find many attractions for the whole family, such as Popeye Villag e. It is an amusement park built in the 1980s, located in a small, but exceptionally picturesque bay. Also noteworthy are fortifications, such as the Tower of St. Agatha from the 17th century or the Mystra artillery battery from the 18th century. Of course, Mellieha offers several beautiful beaches that will allow you to enjoy a well-deserved rest after intense sightseeing or walking.
