Hagar Qim

Hagar , or essentially Haġar Qim, is a remarkable archaeological complex located in the south of Malta. It consists of a temple with five rooms connected by a corridor. The whole is protected by a special roof, which is to prevent the weather conditions from degrading this unusual place.

What is this uniqueness about? Well, the building is dated to 3600-3200 BC .! So it is older than the Giza pyramids. Near Hagar there is another, equally ancient archaeological complex ( Mnajdra ), within which you will see more temples. These two places, along with the other megalithic buildings in Malta, are jointly included on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List .
For whom?
If you are interested in archeology and history, then a visit to Hagar and Mnajdra will be a unique experience for you. Visiting them is a real opportunity to move into the very distant past.
