In the eastern part of Luxembourg, right on the border with Germany, lies the tiny city of Vianden . At first glance, inconspicuous, it surprises with its unique atmosphere and charming buildings. Vianden boasts a beautiful medieval old town , with narrow, cobbled streets, soaring Gothic churches, well-preserved defensive walls and towers.

However, the most important attraction is the castle towering over the area (Château de Vianden). Built on a hill, it is an example of the largest and most beautiful feudal residence of the Romanesque and Gothic period in Europe! In addition, in Vianden you will also find a chairlift that will take you to an altitude of 440 m above sea level, from where you will be able to admire the panorama of the Our river valley .

For whom?

If you are a fan of medieval atmosphere and you like visiting small towns with well-preserved old buildings, then be sure to visit Vianden. It is also a good starting point for hiking tours in the area. You will find here a lot of marked trails.

Auberge Aal Veinen

I highly recommend staying at this lovely guesthouse. It is located in a building from the 17th century, in the center of the town. Very pleasant atmosphere, nice, cozy interior. It's worth taking the breakfast option, because the food there is delicious. The price is affordable for Luxembourgish conditions.

Hotel Heintz

A beautiful hotel in the medieval old town of Vianden. The building impresses with its amazing architecture and attention to detail. The interiors arouse admiration - they are elegant, stylish and combine the past with modernity and comfort. Not the cheapest, but worth it for this unique atmosphere!
Hotel Petry

Hotel Petry

Hotel Petry is a really good choice when it comes to Vianden. A large, nice building with a lively atmosphere. But don't worry - it's not noisy or party-like there. The object is simply alive. I spent two nights there and had no reason to complain. Additionally, it is close to the most important attractions. There is also a view of the castle.
Camping de L'Our Appartements

Camping de L'Our Appartements

My wife and children stayed at this hotel. Because, despite the name, it is a hotel, not a campsite. We rented a large studio, which was quite simply furnished, but very neat. The price for 4 people was really acceptable. Location outside the city, but relatively close to the center.
