Palanga, or Palanga in Polish, is a Baltic, Lithuanian resort . It became in the nineteenth century, when the Tyszkiewicz family moved here. Thanks to them, Palanga has become a popular holiday destination among Poles. Elegant villas began to appear in the town, and in the summer the streets and beaches were filled with a buzz of conversations, conducted mainly in Polish. He used to fall here on vacation, among others Władysław Reymont or Leon Wyczółkowski .

Currently, Poles come here rarely, while its advantages are strongly appreciated by the Lithuanians themselves. The resort can be a good starting point for exploring the coast - it is close to Klaipeda and numerous beautiful sandy Baltic beaches . Palanga also offers a good hotel base for practically all budgets.
