Neringa is the most famous summer resort in Lithuania . It is situated on the picturesque Curonian Spit that separates the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon. Neringa is officially one town that stretches for about 50 km, but in practice there are 4 towns : Juodkrante, Prevalka, Preila and Nida. The latter is the most popular among tourists.

Among the atmospheric, former fishing houses, which nowadays mostly host holidaymakers, there is also the Thomas Mann Memorial House , which spent most of his holidays there. The surrounding area is also known for its beautiful beaches, the highest moving sand dunes in Europe, and forests where you can find a lot of wild animals. The spit and the adjacent area have been protected under the Curonian Spit National Park, which has also been included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List . Although the peninsula is cut off from the rest of Lithuania by the waters of the Curonian Gulf, it is easily accessible by ferry, which runs regularly from Klaipeda.
For whom?
If you are looking for a place for a seaside holiday in Lithuania, Neringa will be the perfect destination. Lovers of walking on the Baltic beaches can also visit Europe's highest, moving dunes. People who prefer smaller and more atmospheric towns than big resorts will feel good here.
