Usedom (in German, Usedom) is an island divided between the territories of Poland and Germany. At the same time, the vast majority of its area is located in our western neighbors. For years, it has been a popular destination for holiday or typical spa holidays. On the Polish side of the island, Świnoujście is definitely worth visiting. However, you will find many more attractions in Germany.

First of all, almost endless sandy beaches await you here. A walk along the coast will be a pleasure in itself. In addition, you will be able to walk along the treetop path (Baumwipfelpfad) or to the pier in Heringsdorf. You will surely be enchanted by the architecture of the seaside town of Ahlbeck , as well as Peenemünder Haken, Struck und Ruden , a picturesque bird sanctuary.

For whom?

If you dream of a quiet vacation in beautiful natural surroundings, the island of Usedom may be the perfect choice. It is an ideal direction for active people . The island is popular with cyclists and walkers. I will also recognize these wonderful beaches , so if the weather on the Baltic Sea is good, then you will be able to freely use their potential. The island also hides numerous natural wonders that you will be able to admire as you explore it.

Recommended accomodations

Here are the accommodations that we can recommend with a clear conscience. We only recommend hotels that we have visited ourselves.
Strandhotel Seerose

Strandhotel Seerose

On the island we stayed at the Strandhotel Seerose. We chose it primarily because of its proximity to the beach. After leaving the building, we could be there within a minute. Beautiful surroundings, nice views, peace and quiet. Rather older clientele. Very tasty food.
Gasthaus Natzke

Gasthaus Natzke

The guesthouse met our expectations. We wanted to stay in a smaller, quieter place to stay. Natzke is a typical German guesthouse, with the difference that (which surprised us) breakfast is not served here. Apart from that, it's cozy, homely, nice. So all in all, we recommend it.

Dorint Resort Baltic Hills Usedom

I visited the island of Usedom as part of a one-day (but overnight) trip from Świnoujście. I stayed in this resort. Modern and comfortable. A bit from the sea, but for me it was not a big problem. You have to take into account that it is not cheap here. However, since I came for one night, I could go crazy.
Strandhotel Heringsdorf

Strandhotel Heringsdorf

We visited here for a weekend and this hotel was a hit. Right next to the beach, surrounded by trees. There is a swimming pool and a great restaurant on site. Large room, nicely decorated, with a large bathroom. There are some parking spaces, but rather for smaller cars.
Hotel Germania

Hotel Germania

Germania is truly a classic German hotel (although in my opinion it is closer to a guesthouse). Beautiful architecture of the building. Location on the promenade. The beach is just a stone's throw away. The hotel has an excellent restaurant specializing in Mediterranean cuisine. Very nice service. High standard.
