Marburg

Marburg is a historic city situated along the picturesque meandering river Lahn . Its history dates back to the beginning of the 10th century, when the first fortifications were erected. Over the years, a settlement grew around the fortified castle, and already in the 13th century Marburg was granted city rights. Over the next centuries, the city and its greatest monuments have avoided major damages and the medieval layout of the old town has been preserved here until today.
