Lake Constance (Bodensee) is located in three countries: Switzerland , Austria and Germany . It has an area of 538.5 km², which makes it the third largest lake in Europe. The Germans are lucky that the reservoir lies mainly within their borders. The German coastline is 173 km , with 273 km measured by the entire lake. This reservoir is very picturesque in itself. However, it is photogenic due to the fact that the Alps are in its close vicinity. Therefore, every year it is visited by crowds of tourists who want to relax and enjoy the wonderful views.

On Lake Constance you will find numerous beaches and resorts. You will also be able to visit the famous city of Friedrichshafen , which houses the Zeppelin Museum, dedicated to its distinctive airships. Another important city on the German side of the lake is undoubtedly Konstanz. It is also worth adding that the Lake Constance region is one of the most expensive in the whole of Germany . So you have to take into account higher prices - both for accommodation, attractions and meals in restaurants. Fortunately, there is a really high level of service behind all of this.
For whom?
Go to Lake Constance if you want to relax while exploring Germany. You will find great recreational areas, beaches, vineyards, vast meadows, pleasant walks and wonderful views. When you decide to diversify your time a bit, you will be able to visit some of the more important attractions that are located on the shores of the lake. Including Schloss Mainau or the Zeppelin Museum.
