Juist is one of the seven inhabited East Frisian Islands along the North Sea. It is often described as the " Wonderful Island ". It is separated from the mainland and the rest of Germany by the Wadden Sea. It is a shallow body of water which, during low tides, leaves behind huge tidal plains and specific mud. Thanks to its amazing properties, the entire area of the Wadden Sea has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List .
