Augsburg is one of the most important cities in Bavaria and the whole of Germany. Elegant, full of splendor, with magnificent architecture, it attracted not only German society and artists, but also people from other parts of Europe. Augsburg owes much to the incredibly wealthy and influential Fugger family who worked in banking and commerce. In addition to multiplying their fortune, they also built numerous facilities in the city, e.g. the world's first housing estate.

Another important family living in Augsburg were the Mozarts . It was here that Amadeus' father was born - Leopold, who also wrote music. The city is therefore full of art, history and amazing buildings from different centuries. Numerous festivals take place here, attracting visitors from all over the world. What's more, Augsburg was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to the water management system developed over the centuries. The city's landscape is dominated by numerous canals, spas and fountains. The great atmosphere of this city will make you want to stay here longer.

For whom?

Do you love Mozart's music and would like to visit his hometown? Then be sure to visit Augsburg. Preferably during the Augsburg Mozart Festival (usually held in October). The city will appeal to you if you prefer places full of classic architecture with many museums and monuments.
