Batumi

In 1963, the song "Batumi" by the Filipinki band became a musical hit in Poland. The vocalists sang with nostalgia the memories of the tea fields surrounding the city with which "their dreams are associated". Probably the Filipinos might be a bit surprised if they went to Batumi now.

This seaside city, being the most important resort in Georgia, has undergone a considerable metamorphosis in recent years. What immediately draws attention after arriving in Batumi is the huge architectural mishmash. On the one hand, they attack modern, gigantic apartment buildings or hotels, and on the other, charming, Art Nouveau tenement houses. The somewhat kitschy style of building and the resort atmosphere mean that Batumi does not have a huge group of loyal fans. But it's worth coming here for just one day. Mainly to see the famous Ali and Nino monument , visit the Alphabet Tower , look at the city from above during the cable car ride or take a walk in the botanical garden. One should rather forget about sunbathing in Batumi. Capricious weather (even in summer), frequent rainfall and cloudy weather will not be conducive to this.
