<p>The weather in Reims can be capricious for much of the year. To avoid cold and rain, it is best to go there in <strong>April, August and October</strong> . During these months, it is quite dry and the temperature reaches a pleasant temperature, perfect for a leisurely tour of the city.</p><h2> How to get?</h2><p> It is worth planning a visit to Reims when going to <a href="https://brate.com/pl/europa/francja/paryz/">Paris</a> . If you are going there by car from the French capital, <strong>the journey will take about 1.5 hours on the A4 motorway</strong> . A convenient and faster way to get to Reims is <strong>by TGV.</strong> The journey will take approximately 45 minutes.</p>

Among them, angels are eye-catching, thanks to which the temple even gained the nickname <strong><em>of the Cathedral of Angels.</em></strong> Inside the church, take a good look at the stained glass windows. Three of them are the work of the French painter Marc Chagall.</p><h3> Tau Palace </h3><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/francja/reims/reims.jpg?tr=n-hero" alt="Reims" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Palais du Tau, Reims, France - © Brate</figcaption></figure><p> Tau Palace ( <em>Palais du Tau</em> ) is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is adjacent to the Notre Dame Cathedral from the southeast. In medieval times it was the seat of the Bishop of Reims. Its walls contain unique exhibits: <strong>Charlemagne&#39;s talisman</strong> from the 9th century and the so-called The &quot;Holy Ampoule&quot; ( <em>Sainte-Ampoule</em> ), containing the holy oil with which new kings were anointed during the coronation ceremony. In the palace, also see <strong>the Tau Hall</strong> , where coronation banquets were held.</p><h3> St. Basilica Remigiusz </h3><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/francja/reims/reims-basilique-st-remi.jpeg?tr=n-hero" alt="Reims" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Basilique St. Remi, Reims, France - © Brate</figcaption></figure><p> This <strong>oldest church</strong> ( <em>Basilique St. Remi</em> ) in the city completes the group of monuments inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was created in the first half. 11th century and belonged to the Benedictine abbey. Initially built in the Romanesque style, in the following centuries it gained Gothic elements (including the choir). The entire building, despite reconstructions, has retained the uniformity of style and structure. Inside, it is especially worth seeing the tomb of St. Remigiusz. Also noteworthy are <strong>the collection of stained glass windows</strong> and <strong>the impressive organ</strong> , commissioned in 2000.</p><h3> Museum of St. Remigiusz</h3><p> Within the walls <strong>of the 17th and 18th century buildings of the Saint Remi Abbey there is the Saint Remi</strong> Museum. Remigius ( <em>Musée Saint-Remi)</em> . It comprehensively and interestingly presents <strong>the history of Reims from prehistory to the Renaissance.</strong> Divided into four sections, the exhibitions present the history of the abbey, the fate of the city in Gallo-Roman times, the military past of Reims and archaeological finds discovered in the town.</p><h3> St. Basilica Clotilde </h3><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/francja/reims/reims-sainte-clotildes-basilica.jpeg?tr=n-hero" alt="Reims" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Basilique Saint-Clotilde, Reims, France - © Brate</figcaption></figure><p> Against the background of Gothic temples in Reims <strong>, the Basilica of St. stands out. Today they stand alone, although still stunning in their monumentality, against the background of the city&#39;s newer buildings. When you look at the details placed on the three massive arcades, you can see legendary and mythological figures carved in stone: <strong>Romulus and Remus and Leda with the swan.</strong></p><h3> Cryptoporticus</h3><p> <strong>Cryptoporticus</strong> is <strong>one of only five</strong> Roman buildings of this type discovered <strong>&nbsp;</strong> so far <strong>in the world.</strong> It was built in the 3rd century under the Roman forum and is one of the oldest monuments in the city. It consists of partially underground galleries. Secondly, they are <strong>the only one in France recognized as a historic site</strong> and, together with five other champagne cellars in Reims, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A visit to the Ruinart House is a great opportunity to observe the champagne production process and enjoy the sparkling drink.</p>

What to see in Reims?

<p>There would be no champagne in Reims if it weren&#39;t for the vineyards covering the surrounding hills. However, this is not the only natural wealth of this region.</p><h3> Natural Park of the Reims Mountains </h3><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/francja/reims/reims-montagne-de-reims.jpeg?tr=n-hero" alt="Reims" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Parc naturel régional de la Montagne de Reims, Reims, France - © Brate</figcaption></figure><p> The Natural Park of the Reims Mountains <strong>(</strong> <strong><em>Parc naturel régional de la Montagne de Reims</em></strong> <strong>)</strong> stretches above green vine fields. There are only 1,000 of the latter, and yet they constitute the largest concentration of trees of this species in the world. Their form still remains a mystery to scientists and arouses constant surprise among tourists.</p><h3> Leo Lagrange Park</h3><p> In Reims itself, there is also no shortage of green spaces where you can relax or engage in physical activities. The best place for this is the <strong>Leo Lagrange</strong> park, the largest in Reims. The skate park attracts skateboarding enthusiasts, the paths crossing the city greenery encourage walking and jogging, and the pond attracts picnickers.</p><h3> Park de la Patte d&#39;Oie</h3><p> However, it is <strong>Park de la Patte d&#39;Oie</strong> that deserves to be called an &quot; <strong>extraordinary garden&quot;</strong> . Founded in the mid-18th century, it is not only a natural but also a historical heritage of Reims. It is worth walking <strong>along the promenade with water jets and sculptures of the Congress Palace.</strong> Another interesting place is a rocky space with a redwood tree and a stream, recreated based on Durand&#39;s painting.</p>

Nature in Reims

<p>The vineyards of the <strong>Champagne</strong> hills lead tourists to <strong>Reims</strong> , a city that tastes of champagne and smells of history. Because where to look for this sparkling drink, if not in the largest champagne cellars? Where to touch the history of France, if not in the place where French kings were crowned? During my stay in Reims I stayed at the Continental Hotel. Its basic and main advantage is the location - the very center. Importantly, it has a private parking lot. I recommend taking the breakfast option and also stopping by the hotel for dinner. They feed really well here.

I can recommend the Arcades Hotel to anyone with a clear conscience. Great location - in the heart of Reims. Very nice and helpful staff. The room is small, but perfect for one person. Great WiFi throughout the entire facility. There is no problem with parking - there is a large public parking lot nearby.

An excellent hotel that made our stay in Reims even more pleasant and easier. I was close to everything, we could use the underground parking lot for an additional fee, and we could also enjoy a comfortable, nice room.

We can fully recommend this hotel to everyone. Pure perfection. True, you have to pay a bit more for luxury there, but in my opinion it&#39;s worth it! From our room I had a view directly onto the cathedral. The apartment itself was modern and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was delicious.
