When to visit Chamonix?

<p>The amazing landscape of Chamonix is created primarily by lakes shimmering in the sun, picturesque waterfalls and mountain peaks. The resort delights with its scenery, especially in winter.</p><h3> Mont-Blanc</h3><p> Mont Blanc <strong>is the highest peak in the Alps</strong> and is unrivaled in Europe. Rising to a height of 4,810 meters above sea level, it is aptly called <strong>the Roof of Europe.</strong> Its raw scenery: rocks, glaciers and snow-covered slopes each year ignite the imagination of millions of tourists and thousands of mountaineers who dream of setting foot on the very top of the mountain. </p><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/francja/chamonix/chamonix.jpg?tr=n-hero" alt="Chamonix" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Mont Blanc, Chamonix, France - © Brate</figcaption></figure><h3> Peaks of the Mont Blanc massif</h3><p> However, it must be remembered that Mont Blanc is not only the name of a single mountain, but of the entire massif. This spectacular miracle of nature makes an incredible impression. Especially when viewed from <strong><em>l&#39;Aiguillette des Posettes</em></strong> - <strong>the highest point of the Chamonix Highlands.</strong> It is famous for the most beautiful view of the entire Mont Blanc massif. From there you can see the White Mountain in all its glory and lower hills, such as the glacier-covered <strong><em>Aiguille d&#39;Argentière</em></strong> or the most popular among climbers, <strong>the Giant&#39;s Tooth ( <em>Dent</em> <em>du Geant</em> ).</strong></p><h3> Mer de Glace</h3><p> Mer de Glace (lit. Sea of Ice) is <strong>the largest glacier in France.</strong> It is as much as 7 km long and 200 m deep. To see it, it is best to take the funicular in Chamonix and go to <strong>Montenvers station.</strong> The glacier will be visible immediately after leaving the train. Interestingly, it can also be viewed from the inside. In the summer season, tourists can visit a cave carved by human hands, containing ice sculptures and a collection of crystals. Also visit <strong>Glaciorum</strong> to see an exhibition about glaciers.</p><h3> Lac Blanc</h3><p> <strong>Lake White ( <em>Lac</em> <em>Blanc</em> )</strong> is an iconic place among mountain hiking enthusiasts, offering a picturesque view of Mont Blanc. In turn, the panorama of the entire Chamonix Valley is best viewed from <strong>the Blue Lake</strong> ( <em>Lac</em> <em>Bleu</em> ). It is located in a charming place, surrounded by rocky slopes. Another interesting reservoir is <strong>Lake Cornu</strong> ( <em>Lac</em> <em>Cornu</em> ), around which herds of wild ibex walk lazily. The waters of the Nant du Dard River roaring down from a height of over 140 m make a truly amazing impression. It is best to admire this spectacle of nature from the bridges hanging over the river in front of the waterfall.</p>
