Carcassonne

Carcassonne is situated on the River Aude, in the region of Occitania. It is divided into two parts: the upper one - La Cite Medieval and the lower one - La Bastide de Saint Louis. The first is a fortress city. Impregnable, one would like to say, looking at the thick walls surrounding it, cut by 52 pointed stone towers.
