Urho Kekkonena National Park is the second largest protected area in Finland. It includes mountain areas, wide peat bogs with lots of streams and rivers. The northern part is rich in treeless tundra with characteristic gorges . The view of the Luttojoki and Suomujoki rivers and their tributaries adds to the variety. At the heart of the park is the easy-to-walk Raututunturi-Saariselkä trail . On the way, you will pass gorges, moors and boulder fields. To the southwest, you will see forests and peat bogs that can be difficult to penetrate.

In the border zone with Russia you will see the mysterious mountain Korvatunturi (483m). It means "mountain-ear" in Finnish. The Finnish counselor has created a legend that it is an ear that listens to children's wishes and that is exactly where Santa Claus lives. After World War II, Nicholas was "transferred" to Rovaniemi .
