Ribe

Located in the southwestern part of Denmark, Ribe is considered to be the country's oldest city . Its greatest advantage is the large number of medieval buildings gathered in a relatively small area. Ribe's history is quite turbulent - it was consumed by fires, flooded by floods or destroyed during wars. And although centuries ago it served as an important port, its importance decreased over time.

Thanks to the preservation of the old, medieval buildings, it allows for a specific journey in time. The city's highlights include the cathedral , and the historic streets of Sønderportsgade and Klostergade . Tourists are also eager to visit the Viking Museum and the VikingeCenter located outside the city, which is a reconstruction of the former village of these Scandinavian warriors.
For whom?
You will surely like Ribe if you like medieval atmosphere . Here you will have an abundance of them, mainly due to the architecture dating back to the Middle Ages. A visit to Ribe will also be a real treat for Viking fans . The museum and the reconstruction of their village will allow for a better understanding of the history and culture of this people.
