Zagorje is primarily an offer for people who want to get to know a slightly less commercial face of Croatia . Tourists come here quite sporadically, so you can count on an intimate atmosphere. You will also like Zagorje when you are looking for a pleasant, not too demanding terrain for cycling or hiking trips . A visit to this corner of Croatia, and more precisely to the village of Kumrovec, will also be a real treat for fans of Yugoslavia . And when you want to relax, thermal springs and swimming pools will be waiting for you there.

After visiting the open-air museum in Kumrovec, we stopped for the night in Pri Borz. This is the entire house for rent. A real place with soul. There is a garden, a swimming pool, a homely atmosphere. Very nice hosts who may not have welcomed us with bread and salt, but with delicious home-made wine. The entire house is well-equipped.

One of the most interesting places in continental Croatia that I have had the opportunity to stay overnight. It is located in Zabok. Surrounded by a wonderful garden with a pond. The room was huge, the interior a bit palatial. The breakfast was tasty, although rather lacking in variety.

Stara Vodenica is a charming guesthouse in Klanjec. First of all, huge applause goes to the person preparing the meals. Very good products, everything fresh and delicious. The room was small. But since I stopped here on my way to Poland, I didn't complain. For a longer stay, it would probably be useful to have a little more space.

This hotel is quite a large, modern property, located very close to the amazing Trakošćan Castle. My apartment was large, clean and furnished to a typical hotel standard. The price of the stay included a nice breakfast. A good base for exploring this corner of Croatia.

My wife and I stayed here for one night, after entering Croatia from Hungary. In the late afternoon we could relax in the outdoor swimming pool. The area is quiet and peaceful, so we had a good night's sleep before continuing our journey. Nice service and good breakfast.
