Ston
Autorka, Travelbay
Ston is a small village that is the gateway to the Pljesac Peninsula. The town is famous primarily for its excellent seafood and defensive walls . It is certainly not an attraction comparable to the Great Wall of China, but still worth attention. For many centuries, the Croats had to face hordes of invaders from the east. The main opponent was the Ottoman Empire.

Today, the wall no longer protects against anyone, although it is still "invaded" because of hordes of tourists from Western and Northern Europe. Right next to the village you will find Mały Ston , which is connected by a system of walls . And if the barrier itself successfully resisted the invaders, it could not withstand the 1996 earthquake. But the inhabitants rebuilt the damage in no time.
For whom?
Ston is a spot off the trail in Croatia , although more and more tourists visit the local walls. This is a good spot to eat seafood. The prices aren't the lowest, but they say it's worth it.
