When to visit Una?

<p>Of course, the biggest attraction of the entire Una National Park is <strong>its amazing nature</strong> . Travertine waterfalls, numerous cascades, charming hills and ubiquitous greenery make it impossible not to fall in love with this place.</p><h3> Una River </h3><figure id="attachment_71597" class="wp-caption alignleft hero-image"><img class="size-medium wp-image-71597" src="https://media.brate.com/images/europa/bosnia-i-hercegowina/park-narodowy-una/una-4.jpg?tr=n-hero" alt="Una" width="500" height="326"><figcaption class="caption"> Una, Bosnia and Herzegovina - © Brate</figcaption></figure><p> The source <strong>of Una</strong> is located in Croatia, in the town of Donja Suvaja at the foot of Mount Stražbenica. This entire section offers numerous waterfalls and cascades, which are favored by enthusiasts of rafting and slightly more extreme kayaking trips. An interesting feature of the Una National Park are <strong>the travertine formations</strong> created on the river, covered with numerous mosses. It is located north of the town of Kulen Vakuf, near the hamlet of Doljani. It can be reached by a good gravel road running along the river from the village of Orašac. It is <strong>25 m high</strong> . Of course, it is most impressive in spring, when it is fed with water from melting snow. And although it seems impossible, it is also used by pontoons during rafting events organized at Una.</p><h3> Small and Large waterfall on Una</h3><p> An equally beautiful waterfall can be seen next to the town of Martin Brod, closer to the source of the river (but in Bosnia and Herzegovina). <strong>The Small and Large Waterfalls</strong> are located in close proximity to each other. They create an exceptionally picturesque scenery with numerous travertine formations.</p>

Una National Park

<p>The biggest attraction of Una National Park is undoubtedly rafting. The river is quite demanding, so those who want to experience <strong>a rafting adventure</strong> have several routes to choose from. Each with a different level of difficulty. There are several tourist agencies organizing rafting trips on site. Most of them offer the following options. Rafting on the route <strong>Štrbački buk - Lahovo</strong> (distance 14 km, time 4 hours), <strong>Kostela - Salihovica</strong> (distance 10 km, 4 hours) and <strong>Kostela - Bosnanska Krupa</strong> (distance 25 km, time 6 hours). The most exciting thing is rafting from around the most famous waterfall.</p><h3> Bicycle routes</h3><p> The area of the national park <strong>is perfect for bicycle trips</strong> . First of all, you can go for a ride from Martin Brod to the Štrbački buk waterfall. They are publicly available to visitors. They offer a beautiful view of Kulen Vakuf and the Una Valley below.</p>

Actively in Una Park

<p><strong>The Una River</strong> meanders majestically along the southwestern border with <a href="https://brate.com/europe/croatia/">Croatia</a> . It is accompanied by two other rivers - <strong>Krka and Unac, which are jointly protected under the national park</strong> . This part of Bosnia and Herzegovina surprises with amazing travertine rock formations and numerous waterfalls.
