Linz

Autor, Travelbay
If there were a ranking of the most artistic, independent and art-filled cities in Austria, Linz would undoubtedly take first place. Located in the northern part of the country, on the Danube, it delights with its diversity. In addition to the charming old town with atmospheric streets, you will find really great museums here.

One of the symbols of Linz is the Ars Electronica Center , located on the riverside. It focuses on showing human history and also teaches through experience. Another important museum in Linz is Lentos . It is considered to be the most important contemporary art institution in Austria. Be sure to also go on a rail ride, an incredibly steep funicular built in the late 19th century that reaches the Pöstlingberg peak . You will be able to admire the wonderful views of the city while sipping a coffee in one of the cafes operating there.
For whom?
Visit Linz if you like places full of art , with interesting museums and monuments. If you like walking, you will be able to walk along the Danube or near the Pöstlingberg peak.
